I am grateful to Ace Robbins for sending me the following report on the Mounted Games Team’s experiences of going to the championships. Mike Pony Club Championships 2011 We arrived in Draycott House and met with the [...] Another of our talented branch members has held the branch flag high in the national Pony Club Championships in Derbyshire. Lizzie Tillard came 2nd in her arena in the Open Eventing competition! This is a terrific result; no other rider from Area 11 was placed in the the open competition and Lizzie is therefore ranked [...] Fiona Mitchell has kindly forwarded a picture of Jo with her sash and rosette after winning her arena in the Area 11 Dressage Competition: I had a message from Sue Lee this afternoon to say that our senior mounted games team came 3rd in the Pony Club Intermediate Level Championships today. This is an absolutely terrific result and congratulations to all concerned. Hopefully we will have a full report in due course. The England trial is a yearly event giving just one selected member from each pony club the opportunity to represent their country in Prince Phillip Cup mounted games at Windsor. Hazel Perry and Amy Dunn have been active and Hazel writes “We did the Intermediate at Coombelands where I finished 2nd and Amy 4th. We then did the intermediate at Nurstead where I finished 2nd and Amy 7th. We then did the intermediate at [...] Jo continues to have a cracking year having helped her school team (Mayfield) to glory in the 2010 National Schools Equestrian Association county championships. More recently she entered her first proper horse trials at Mattingley on 8th May and won her section of the Intro competition with a double clear on top of an amazing [...] Congratulations to the following members on passing their Pony Club Efficiency Tests over the past two days.
