I am very grateful to Candy Robbins for submitting the following end of year report which starts with news of some brilliant success in the recent East Sussex Inter-branch competition at Golden Cross. Well done everyone and a special thank you to all our organisers The Branch entered 7 teams at the East Sussex Pony [...] I am very grateful to Candy Robbins for supplying the following report. I would also like to add my congratulations to Ben Berrill and Ready Eddie Go on their success in gaining a place at the Pony Club Championships in Cheshire. Southdown Hunt East sent 4 teams to the Area show jumping at Felbridge on [...] Hazel Perry reports: On Sunday 15th April Amy Dunn and I did a one day event at Tweseldown. Both our horses did pleasing dressage tests. Darcy jumped double clear and finished 10th. Amy had an unfortunate 2 poles down show jumping but Grouse flew cross country. Not bad for their first event of the season! My thanks go to Candy Robbins for submitting the following report: The Branch was represented by 4 teams at the East Sussex Interbranch show jumping competition held at Golden Cross on 14th April – thankfully the weather was 100% better than the last competition held at this venue! Our Mini team of Hazel Perry riding Harvey, [...] I am indebted to Candy Robbins for submitting the following report of the jumping at Golden Cross on 4th March. Well done to all concerned! The Branch entered 5 teams at the Eridge Interbranch show jumping competition held at Golden Cross on 4th March. Who said there was a water shortage? Members encountered continuous rain, [...] After the disappointment of being balloted out of Sands Farm, the mini team had a very successful day at Golden Cross on Oct 29th, finishing 3rd overall. Xanthe also finished a very impressive 2nd in a highly competitive, large class. The team was Xanthe Fairhead on Zac, Georgia Corrin on Daisy, Evie Pope on Martini, [...] My thanks to Claire Fry who has kindly submitted the following report and photograph: I don’t think anyone could quite believe Chloe and Big Dan went and won the Novice Area Show Jumping again, especially ME (Mum) !!! The first thing I knew about it was when Sarah shouted ” S*** we’re off to Cheshire [...] I am always pleased when members write about their experiences and the fact that Sienna has also written about the Mounted Games Team’s visit to the Pony Club Championships in addition to Ace is a lovely bonus. As they explain, Sienna and Ace have both become to old to compete again next year; they [...] Another of our talented branch members has held the branch flag high in the national Pony Club Championships in Derbyshire. Lizzie Tillard came 2nd in her arena in the Open Eventing competition! This is a terrific result; no other rider from Area 11 was placed in the the open competition and Lizzie is therefore ranked [...] Louise Lewis has kindly submitted the following report: TWO SOUTHDOWN EAST PC MEMBERS OFF TO EVENTING CHAMPIONSHIPS Southdown East eventers have been out competing throughout the summer at different levels working towards the Area 11 competition qualifier which was held recently at Pulborough.
