The DC of the East Sussex Branch was so impressed with the efficiency with which Dr. Lionel Ripley kept track of the cross country times at one of our events last summer she asked [...] To anyone left wondering ‘why?’ after the weather on Sunday was near perfect the background is deceptively simple: we had to set a deadline for making a final decision of 9am Friday morning. At that time the Met Office were still forecasting consistent rain, heavy at times, from 10pm Saturday night to 10am Sunday morning. [...] I am pleased to announce that the Branch Committee recently decided to appoint Stuart Fellingham as an additional member. Stuart will take responsibility for coordinating fund raising and sponsorship. This is becoming an increasingly important aspect of managing the branch and I’m sure everyone will support him in his new role. Stuart is, of course, an ex-member.
